Producers Guild Nominations Give Dark Knight an Edge Back?

The Producers Guild of America came out with their five nominees for Best Picture, and the results were extremely unsurprising:

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Dark Knight
Frost/Nixon
Milk
Slumdog Millionaire

The only thing of note here is that The Dark Knight made it in over its Oscar rival Doubt. That puts it at odds with the Screen Actors Guild, which gave Doubt a Best Ensemble nomination (their equivalent to Best Picture) and left out The Dark Knight.

Then again, it was easy to predict both outcomes. Doubt is an acting-heavy movie, whereas The Dark Knight would appeal more to people judging the production side.

So where does that leave us? Nowhere -- conventional wisdom says one of the two of them will be nominated for Best Picture and one will be left out. But a word of caution: in the past, in similar situations, both movies made it in, knocking a previously-assumed lock out of the race altogether (Cold Mountain, Dreamgirls).

If both Knight and Doubt land in the final five, which other film will get pushed out? At the moment, only Slumdog seems like the safest of the safe.
