'Alice in Wonderland' Plot Details, Stills, Art, Character Portraits

Alice in Wonderland won't appear on screens until March of 2010 (unless they take my advice and release it in the friendlier summer period), but USA Today just ran a story featuring a ton of cool stuff we didn't know about the project yet. Like...that it's a sequel to the events of the book. Kind of. Check it out:

The traditional tale has been freshened with a blast of girl power, courtesy of writer Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast). Alice, 17, attends a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. Off she runs, following a white rabbit into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited 10 years before yet doesn’t remember. [...] Aussie actress Mia Wasikowska, 19, best known for HBO’s In Treatment, has the coveted title role. “There is something real, honest and sincere about her,” Zanuck says. “She’s not a typical Hollywood starlet.”

Oscar prospects? Art Direction, Costume Design, and Makeup for sure. Visual Effects maybe. The rest will depend on the reviews.

   I thank this is a cool movie and can not wait to see it I am so excited about a new wicked cool alice and hope thier will be an alice in wonderland number two I thank it will get mager readings and maybe even an oscor an even a prize for best movie yet to come.
